Meike Siegner

Founding Committee Member - Canada

As an interdisciplinary scholar in business management and forest sector sustainability, Meike focuses on the study of economic systems where buildings provide healthy spaces for people to work, live, and play, while being active partners in addressing climate change. She brings over a decade of global experience conducting research, education activities, and UN-level advisory work on sustainability initiatives in forest product markets. Her current work has a particular focus on mass timber, where she studies firm-level environmental strategies in glulam and CLT supply chains. She is looking forward to bringing to the association her expertise on ways to make the mass timber construction sector a leader in the circular economy and planetary restoration practices.

One of the greatest attributes that people and organisations share within the global mass timber construction sector is unity. Unity is what binds us, helps us to be better, to achieve more together and drive a different future.

Above all else, the mass timber construction sector is special and unique for its diversification for technology, process and methods of working.
